Manufactured by Ihagee Kamerawerk Steenbergen & Co, Dresden, former East Germany. Model c.1965, Version 6.0, (A&R: 1, Hummel: 028), produced between 1963-67, quantity 104400. All Exakta Varex IIb produced between 1963-70, quantity 218000. Version, manufacturing year and body info are as to Andrzej Wrotniak. 35 mm film SLR Exakta Varex IIb The Varex IIb was made from 1963 to 1965; my specimen is one of the last in the series. Mechanically it is just beautiful, maybe the high point in the whole series, although as far as the looks go, I prefer the older IIa's.
